TCV plasmas can have several shapes and can be positioned at several locations within the elongated vacuum vessel. Plasma diagnostics are intended to observe the plasma and measure physical parameters for physics studies. Some diagnostics are mandatory for a safe TCV operation and some others are dedicated for specific physics studies.
